Taiwan will increase the offensive and defensive capabilities of cyberwar

Department of National Defence intends to expand its office communications and information, adding the department "to conduct electronic and Internet wars."

Taiwan government has announced its intention to increase the amount of financial resources available to conduct cyber warfare. Reported by the Taipei Times with reference to documents published by the Ministry of National Defense.

The documents means that the agency intends to expand its office communications and information, adding the department "to conduct electronic and Internet wars."

The new group will be created in response to China's plans to increase its offensive and defensive capabilities of cyberwar.

According to the National Security Bureau of Taiwan for the first six months of 2012 the agency failed to detect and block a million cyber attacks.

The Ministry of National Defense of the state have accused the government and the military in China, "the use of Internet viruses to attack the government, economic and military sites in Taiwan." In the statements of representatives of state institutions noted that the attacks often take place during a dispute between Taiwan and China.

Taiwanese authorities share the U.S. view that "almost all the attacks on government networks around the world come from China," and aimed, in most cases, the theft of confidential information.
